A server architecture usually divides any application into two parts: Client and Server. Once the application is connected to internet, it connects the client (user) to the server (where the details are stored). The server is the central factor in this entire process and how it is operated depends on the Server Architecture.
Being a leading Server Architecture Setup Company , we take care of both Server Architecture and Server Setup.
Client-Server Architecture is a shared system which is stable and scalable to answer queries from clients or users. It allows clients or users to request a service to the server, which waits for requests and responds immediately. The commonly used Client Server Architecture are as follows:
- Tier Architecture – It is the simplest of all Architecture settings, as the user interface, marketing logic and data logic are available in the same system.
- Tier Architecture – In this model, the user interface is stored in the computer, while the database is stored in the server.
- Tier Architecture – Here, there will be an additional middle-structure which receives the requests from the client and sends to the server. Then, it receives the answers from the server and sends them back to the client. Though it sounds complex, it is the fastest among all the 3-Tier architecture types, because of the power and stability.
Server Setup usually denotes how the user is connected to the server. The commonly used Server Setups are as follows:
- One Server for all - Everything resides on a single server. For a normal web application, that would include the web server, application server, and database server. All these three are operated from the same server.
- Separate Database Server - The database management system (DBMS) is separated from the rest of the environment to eliminate the resource contention. It is more secured as the data is not stored on a public platform.
- Load Balancer - Load balancer is usually used for enhancing performance and reliability by distributing the workload across multiple servers.
- HTTP Accelerator - An HTTP accelerator, or caching HTTP reverse proxy, is used to reduce the time it takes to serve content to a user. The major technique used is saving responses as cache data from a web browser. The next time if the same user searches for the same content, it will be shown quickly without loading.
- Master-Slave Database Replication - It requires a master and one or more slave nodes. In this setup, all updates are sent to the master node and reads can be distributed across all nodes.
